Sexy Movie Thursday: The Handmaid's Tale

This movie was on the tv recently and I thought I'd watch it to have something on in the background. Turns out, it was way sexier than I had remembered. The sexless culture and the repression throughout make it all the more exciting when Offred finally finds passion.

From mtv.com:

In this dystopian fable, a librarian wife and mother becomes the childbearing pawn of a Christian theocracy. In the near future, as war rages across the fictional North American Republic of Gilead and pollution has rendered 99 percent of the female population sterile, Kate (Natasha Richardson) is transformed into a handmaid -- a surrogate mother for one of the privileged but barren couples who run the country's fundamentalist regime.

The only downside of The Handmaid's Tale is that at times it hits a little close to home. The creepy bible quoting and the Barbara Bush dress-a-likes. But Natasha Richardson is gorgeous and Aidan Quinn is not bad to look at. So, it's worth a view.

Will there be sex after?
Maybe. If you can make it to the end.

Watchable with husband?
Perhaps. I think my husband could make it though parts.

Trailer?
If your government will let you.

Purchase?
Please do.
