A friend once told me that marriage is using the toilet while your husband is in the shower. At the time it sounded truly profound. As if we all build marriage up in our heads and she was there to quash those thoughts with reality. After actually living with someone and then marrying him, it sounded like a lot of rubbish. It's not that simple, especially when you find someone you really love.
But it's interesting. Sometimes after you've been married awhile and have kids dancing around your living room, and you're just trying to get to through the day so you can be yourself again, it seems that your marriage devolves into that of roommates.
After giving birth with all those hormones swirling about our sex drive practically stops. At that point, I could crap on the floor and my husband would not hesitate to do me. But, Jesus, what I wouldn’t give for an eye fuck. Even a small one. That's sexier than a clean kitchen and bathroom combined.
What can we do to regain our sexuality and get back to that relationship we once had?
